Position Overview:

The Lead Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Redhat/Centos Linux systems. The ideal candidate will also possess a solid understanding of Windows Server environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Linux systems while ensuring optimal performance.
  • Deploy infrastructure through automation techniques.
  • Customize, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise-level applications.
  • Utilize and create LDAP for both Windows and Linux Identity Management.
  • Test applications using tools such as Jenkins, Jira, and Bitbucket.
  • Create and manage containers in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Install and maintain VMware tools including vCenter, vSphere, and vMotion.
  • Document and maintain Dell server RAID configurations.
  • Manage Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) RAID setups.
  • Handle account management through LDAP and SecureID.
  • Utilize health and status monitoring tools like Splunk and Solarwinds.
  • Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) in compliance with security frameworks.
  • Conduct software installation, compatibility troubleshooting, and patch management.
  • Automate Linux processes using Kickstart, Podman, and Ansible.
  • Support security administration aligned with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Document changes to system components and maintain configuration management.
  • Integrate RMF principles into system builds.
  • Engage in continuous integration and automated testing frameworks.
  • Manage and troubleshoot complex computer networks using IT tools.
  • Work with virtualization technologies and backup solutions.
  • Work must be performed onsite.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 Certification required.
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DoD M IAT Level 3 certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH).
  • Current Linux certifications such as RedHat (RHCSA or RHCE), CompTIA Linux+, LPIC, or SANS GCUX.
  • Experience supporting DoD and Intelligence Community customers.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience in hardware/software requirement verification and system validation.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience integrating and administering cross-domain systems.
  • Knowledge of microservices and container technologies (e.g., Docker).
  • TS/SCI clearance with a CI poly is highly desired.
