Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Database Systems Administrator II to manage our SQL Server databases across multiple environments, from development to production. The successful candidate will have a strong background in database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, with experience in software development using Microsoft SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain SQL Server databases across multiple environments, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Refine and automate business processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with optimizing application performance across the SQL landscape.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members.
  • Act as a SQL subject matter expert, establishing policies, best practices, and sharing knowledge within the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an MS-SQL Server DBA, with responsibility for installing, configuring, and maintaining multiple production SQL Server databases.
  • 2-4 years of experience monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving database performance issues, including performance tuning and optimization.
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and later, T-SQL, and SQL Server database design.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking, and deadlocking issues.
  • Experience in SSIS, SSAS, and/or SSRS, as well as data analysis and data warehousing.
  • Previous experience with Oracle Database is strongly preferred.
