Position Overview

The Medical Doctors of St. John's is actively seeking a dedicated hospitalist to become a vital part of their esteemed medical team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in patient care while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care at a leading health center in a dynamic hospital environment.
  • Manage an average of 15-17 patients during each 12-hour shift.
  • Collaborate with a team of 7-8 hospitalists during daytime hours.
  • Oversee 1-2 hospitalists during night shifts, ensuring continuous patient care.
  • Engage in concurrent rounding and admitting shifts, with flexibility for swing shifts.
  • Work in a closed ICU setting with 24/7 in-house coverage for critical situations.
  • Deliver primary medicine services while co-managing post-operative surgical patients.
  • Fulfill an annual requirement of 183 shifts, each lasting 12 hours.
  • Encourage applications from early to mid-career professionals.
  • Possess a degree from an accredited medical institution.
  • Complete a residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine accredited by the relevant authorities.
  • Hold an active or eligible California medical license.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with primary care providers, specialists, and hospital staff, as well as with patients and their families.
  • Compensation ranges from $270,322 to $361,204 annually, reflecting the starting range of total remuneration.
  • This salary may include productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, hospital call stipends, and additional compensation opportunities. Providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their employer.
