Position Overview
The Medical Doctors of St. John's are in search of a dedicated hospitalist to enhance their collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector while enjoying the vibrant environment of California.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care at a prominent health center.
- Manage an average of 15-17 patients during each 12-hour shift.
- Collaborate with a team of 7-8 hospitalists during day shifts.
- Work alongside 1-2 hospitalists during night shifts.
- Engage in concurrent rounding and admitting shifts, with the option for swing admitting shifts.
- Benefit from a closed ICU with 24/7 in-house coverage for rapid responses and emergencies.
- Oversee primary medicine hospitalist services along with post-operative surgical co-management.
- Fulfill an annual shift requirement of 183 shifts (12 hours each).
- Encourage early to mid-career candidates to explore available opportunities.
- Possess a degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Complete an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
- Hold an active or eligible California medical license.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with primary care providers, specialists, and hospital staff, as well as patients and their families.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $270,322 to $361,204 annually. This range reflects the starting total compensation and may include additional productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, hospital/ED call stipends, and extra shift incentives. Furthermore, providers typically receive a Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance and other benefits provided by their employer.
