Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager to join our team at Allied Universal Event Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative functions, including invoicing, scheduling, client relations, event management, compliance, and interviewing/selection for a dedicated client(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Maintain future work schedules by assigning trained personnel, implement tracking systems, and develop staffing plans to ensure a prepared physical security workforce.
  • Event Management: Act as an oversight capacity to ensure event staff meet vendor and client expectations, develop quality assurance programs, and provide expert advice on resolution of shortcomings.
  • Recruitment and Training: Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, selecting, and training of new employees, complete performance appraisals, handle employee grievances or complaints, and discipline employees after consultation with the Branch Manager/General Manager.
  • Inventory Management: Establish and maintain an onsite inventory of critical supplies, including emergency medical provisions, emergency rations, flashlights, batteries, and inclement weather clothing.
  • Scheduling and Productivity: Make independent decisions on assigning personnel to work schedules, balancing officer utilization to reduce non-billable overtime, and maximizing event staff utilization.
  • Leadership and Development: Select and place direct reports, delegate/direct work assignments and priorities, implement performance improvement and career development plans, and make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management.
  • Administrative Tasks: Submit procurement orders, conduct weekly audits of timekeeping records, and ensure accuracy.
  • Employee Relations: Conduct disciplinary and counseling sessions with staff, ensure all issues are documented according to company standards, and follow up for resolution.
  • Termination Procedures: Initiate termination procedures as needed, execute termination meetings, and complete all follow-up documentation according to company standards.
  • Employee Morale and Retention: Maintain high employee morale and low employee turnover through effective and proactive communications and timely problem resolution.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure a smooth-running operation by enforcing event-specific policies and procedures through proper communication and training.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensing: Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • Experience: Prior work experience as a team leader, preferably in event, customer, or protective services industry.
  • Skills: Proven ability to influence key business partners, ability to build strategic vision and drive organizational change, strong organization and planning skills, advanced computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications.
  • Qualifications: Strong inter-personal and networking skills, ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, able to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty: Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security, or any support role in a Combat Zone.
  • Certified Public Safety Academy: Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in protective service, business, or related field.
  • Associate's Degree: Associate's degree (or 60 credits) in criminal justice with current or prior active military service.
  • Event Security Experience: Previous verifiable event security experience.
  • Private/Corporate Security Experience: Previous verifiable private/corporate security experience.
  • Working Knowledge of ABI/WinTeam: Working knowledge of ABI/WinTeam.
