The Associate Director of Events plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Event Sales and Planning standards for a distinguished hotel with a rich history. This position involves supervising Event Managers and administrative personnel to ensure seamless execution of events within our expansive 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a welcoming and customer-focused atmosphere while promoting teamwork.
  • Manage all facets of event coordination, from initial planning and resource allocation to marketing efforts and on-site management, followed by thorough post-event evaluations.
  • Ensure that sales and profit targets are consistently met or exceeded across all event categories.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing Event revenue.
  • Assess each event opportunity to guarantee that it can be effectively serviced and appropriately assigned.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the culinary team to establish pricing for specialized menus.
  • Work in conjunction with Banquet and Set-Up Managers to uphold high-quality standards in daily operations and improve overall event setups.
  • Lead the Events team in cultivating long-term, value-driven relationships with clients to achieve hotel Event sales objectives.
  • Participate in the forecasting process to anticipate future event needs.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in hotel Event Planning is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated active listening skills.
  • Adept at collaborating with various departments.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
