Position Overview:

The Events Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Event Sales and Planning standards, including the management of Event Managers and administrative personnel for a hotel featuring extensive meeting facilities. This position emphasizes continuous staff training, meeting individual booking targets, and ensuring the overall achievement of property Event objectives. The Events Operations Manager should possess comprehensive knowledge of all responsibilities associated with the Event Manager role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a warm, customer-focused demeanor while fostering a fun and collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Manage all facets of event execution, from initial planning and resource allocation to on-site coordination and post-event evaluations.
  • Ensure that sales and profit margins for all event areas meet or exceed budget expectations.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of effective marketing strategies aimed at boosting Event revenues.
  • Assess each event opportunity to guarantee proper service delivery and appropriate assignment.
  • Establish strong, cooperative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the culinary team to price specialized menu offerings.
  • Work alongside Banquet and Set-Up Managers to uphold quality standards and enhance overall event setups.
  • Lead the Events team in cultivating long-term, value-driven customer relationships that support the achievement of hotel Event sales goals.
  • Assist in the forecasting and planning processes.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in hotel Event Planning is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to maintain consistent and effective verbal and written communication with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated active listening skills.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
