Job Overview

Frost Brown Todd LLP, a prominent national law firm, is seeking a dedicated Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal to provide essential support in the realm of patent and trademark law. This full-time position involves assisting attorneys with various legal processes, including applications, registrations, renewals, and maintenance of intellectual property rights.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as applications, registrations, renewals, and notices for attorney review and approval.
  • Conduct thorough research and analyze legal sources, including statutes, judicial decisions, and legal codes.
  • Examine case facts and legal principles to identify potential causes of action and prepare cases accordingly.
  • Electronically file legal documents with the USPTO and international registration authorities.
  • Engage directly with clients regarding patent and trademark issues, including due date notifications and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Utilize CPi Docketing software effectively and review generated reports.
  • Support attorneys in other areas of the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, including copyright matters and licensing agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in paralegal studies.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Intellectual Property Paralegal.
  • Experience in both trademark and patent law is preferred.
  • Familiarity with docketing software is essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The compensation for this role is determined by various factors, including skills, experience, and other job-related criteria. For candidates located in California, the estimated pay range is $55.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
