This full-time position involves assisting attorneys with various tasks related to applications, registrations, renewals, and inter partes proceedings.
Core Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including applications, registrations, renewals, and affidavits for attorney review and approval.
- Conduct thorough research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, and legal codes.
- Examine case facts and legal principles to identify causes of action and prepare accordingly.
- Electronically file legal documents with the USPTO and international registration authorities.
- Engage directly with clients on patent and trademark issues, ensuring timely notifications and updates.
- Utilize CPi Docketing software effectively and analyze reports generated from the system.
- Support attorneys in additional areas of the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, including copyright matters and licensing agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in paralegal studies.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Intellectual Property Paralegal.
- Preferred experience in both trademark and patent law.
- Familiarity with docketing software is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Exceptional client service skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
The compensation for this position reflects a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and organizational needs. For candidates located in California, the estimated pay range is $55.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience and job-related factors, in accordance with applicable employment laws.
