Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a pioneering biopharmaceutical organization dedicated to developing innovative therapies that target challenging diseases through gene silencing. Our approach utilizes advanced RNA chemistries and effective delivery methods to activate the RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism, resulting in significant and lasting reductions in the expression of specific genes. This natural process of gene silencing is fundamental to our therapeutic strategies.
Our mission is to create groundbreaking medications for genetic disorders characterized by the excessive production of proteins linked to disease. The versatility of our RNAi technologies positions us to tackle a wide range of therapeutic areas and pursue targets that are typically unreachable by conventional small molecules and biologics. We are at the forefront of expanding RNAi applications beyond the liver, with a robust clinical pipeline addressing conditions in both the liver and lung, alongside a promising array of preclinical candidates.
Role Summary
We are in search of a driven biologist to enhance our expanding CNS in vivo research team within the Research Department. The selected candidate will contribute to the discovery, development, and translation of novel drug targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in vivo experiments and ex vivo analyses to support drug discovery and development across various diseases.
- Establish new preclinical animal disease models.
- Perform behavioral studies on animals as required.
- Coordinate interdepartmental processes and collaborate with external vendors to ensure efficient study execution and data collection.
- Review and apply relevant scientific literature to address project challenges and find solutions.
- Present research outcomes to project teams and compile technical reports.
- Maintain high productivity levels in the laboratory and execute critical experiments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a biology-related discipline.
- Extensive experience in handling small animals.
- Experience in sample and tissue collection.
- Strong record-keeping skills and proficiency in data analysis, graphing, and presentation.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proven innovation, creativity, and resilience in problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated team player capable of thriving in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNS surgical procedures and/or local drug administration in the CNS.
- Experience in animal dosing and surgical techniques.
- Development of preclinical disease models in the context of drug discovery.
Compensation for this role ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 USD, accompanied by a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
