Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to function as the medical office administrator, providing essential clerical and administrative support within various departments of a healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Interaction: Greet and assist patients and visitors, addressing inquiries both in person and via telephone.
  • Appointment Management: Enhance patient satisfaction and optimize provider efficiency by managing appointment scheduling through various channels.
  • Timely Coordination: Ensure patient appointments are adhered to by notifying providers of arrivals and managing service delivery timelines.
  • Patient Comfort: Address patient concerns proactively, answer questions, and maintain a welcoming reception area.
  • Communication Facilitation: Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and patients to ensure clear communication.
  • Medication Refills: Assist in the process of requesting medication refills as needed.
  • Record Management: Maintain patient records by filing and retrieving necessary documentation efficiently.
  • Financial Management: Oversee patient accounts by collecting and updating personal and financial data.
  • Revenue Tracking: Ensure accurate recording of patient charges and manage third-party claims effectively.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor office supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
  • Confidentiality Assurance: Uphold patient privacy by safeguarding personal and financial information.
  • Policy Adherence: Maintain operational standards by following established policies and reporting necessary changes.
  • Team Contribution: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a medical office environment.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records is advantageous.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess the ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Successful completion of federal and state background checks is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and relevant laws is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal abilities are required.
