The Electrical Systems Reliability Specialist will collaborate closely with Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) professionals and reliability experts to enhance electrical safety and dependability. This role encompasses the management of the electrical safety initiative, oversight of the power system model, and strategic vision for the enhancement of electrical distribution assets.

The primary objective is to elevate Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) performance, bolster asset reliability, minimize maintenance expenditures, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive Electrical Safety initiative across the site.
  • Evaluate and authorize the scope of electrical projects.
  • Monitor the performance of electrical assets, anticipate equipment failures, and proactively mitigate potential issues through effective asset management strategies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting efforts and enhance the technical skills of electricians.
  • Approve studies related to Power Systems.
  • Support the training and development of site personnel based on identified knowledge gaps.
  • Formulate and refine Standard Maintenance Procedures and Maintenance Plans.
  • Conduct incident investigations related to equipment failures, operational downtimes, and electrical safety occurrences.
  • Share critical learnings throughout the organization to prevent recurrence of similar incidents and foster a culture of learning.
  • Review turnaround scopes and provide support during execution for all electrical equipment, ensuring immediate technical assistance for any unexpected findings.
  • Implement best practices, technical alerts, and Manufacturing Standards for electrical systems.
  • Develop multi-year asset management plans for electrical equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70, and NFPA 70E standards.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong aptitude and understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with reliability tools for preventative and predictive maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, such as IEEE, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, performing basic mathematics, and using business software; capable of clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Able to engage and influence a diverse group, from operational technicians to management.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to facilitate discussions.
  • Capable of functioning under time constraints.
  • Skilled in analyzing data and generating reports.
  • Experienced in conducting research and developing plans, procedures, and strategies based on data analysis.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and maintenance personnel.
  • Familiarity with the design and maintenance of electrical equipment, including variable speed drives, DC motors, AC induction motors, breakers, contactors, batteries, and UPS systems.
  • Understanding of P&ID, piping isometrics, and Process Flow Diagrams.
