Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Inspector to join our team at the Mobile County Personnel Board. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be responsible for enforcing the National Electrical Code and local regulations governing the installation and operation of electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce the National Electrical Code and local regulations
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance
  • Conduct site visits to investigate electrical-related issues
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure electrical safety
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Two years of trade school or college coursework in the electrical field
  • Minimum of three years journeyman level experience in the electrical field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Current master or journeyman electrician certificate issued by the State of Alabama or the City of Mobile
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical inspection and enforcement
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
