Position Overview:

  • Provide hands-on support for the installation of new or modified manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead and guide contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance teams, and external contractors throughout all phases of equipment installation and modification, including demolition, construction, installation, testing, and debugging.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, process initiation, design, and documentation of mechanical and electrical systems for new or altered production equipment.
  • Develop and update existing documentation to finalize drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production equipment.
  • Direct technicians in the creation and modification of documentation to complete drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production equipment.
  • Evaluate the condition and functionality of existing equipment to ensure compatibility with new installation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical and electrical installation checklists and timelines, overseeing their implementation as necessary.
  • Source and expedite materials for new or modified equipment.
  • Identify and recommend vendors while maintaining close communication between vendors and the plant.
  • Redesign mechanical components to minimize installation costs, resolve equipment conflicts, and correct design deficiencies.
  • Prepare work orders and guide maintenance personnel and/or external contractors in the fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of equipment.
  • Create, review, and revise installation documentation and drawings as needed.
  • Execute initial equipment setup and debugging until handover to operations.
  • Collaborate with all departments as needed to ensure effective equipment use and operation.
  • Revise existing drawings and coordinate with drafting services or oversee draftsmen to address design challenges.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support, guiding contract engineering technicians and trades to replace faulty components and implement design changes to resolve equipment/process issues.
  • Deliver training to contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance staff, and external contractors on new equipment installation procedures to ensure successful execution of installation tasks.
  • Analyze and enhance equipment installation practices to boost efficiency, particularly aimed at improving installation timelines.
  • Formulate cost-saving strategies for the enhancement of installation projects.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred equipment or software experience includes:
    Windows, MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), AutoCAD 2023, Inventor 2023, MS Project, Pneumatic systems and schematics, Motion Control systems, Automated equipment systems.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management.
