Position Overview:

  • Provide hands-on support for the installation of new or modified manufacturing machinery.
  • Oversee and guide contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance teams, and external contractors throughout all phases of equipment setup and modification, including demolition, construction, installation, testing, and debugging.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, process initiation, design, and documentation of mechanical and electrical systems for newly installed or updated production machinery.
  • Develop and revise existing documentation to finalize drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production equipment.
  • Guide technicians in creating and updating documentation to ensure completion of drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production machinery.
  • Evaluate the condition and functionality of existing equipment to ensure compatibility with new installation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate mechanical and electrical installation checklists and timelines, overseeing their implementation as necessary.
  • Source and expedite materials required for new or modified machinery.
  • Identify and recommend vendors while maintaining close communication between suppliers and the facility.
  • Redesign mechanical components to minimize installation costs, resolve equipment conflicts, and rectify design inadequacies.
  • Prepare work orders and manage maintenance personnel and/or external contractors in the fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of machinery.
  • Create, review, and revise installation documentation and drawings as needed.
  • Perform initial equipment setup and troubleshooting until handover to operations.
  • Collaborate with all departments as required to ensure effective utilization and operation of machinery.
  • Review existing drawings and coordinate with drafting services or supervise draftsmen to address design challenges.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support, directing contract engineering technicians and trades as needed to replace faulty components and implement design modifications to resolve equipment/process issues.
  • Deliver training to contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance teams, and external contractors on new equipment installation procedures as necessary for successful execution of installation tasks.
  • Analyze and enhance equipment installation practices to boost efficiency, particularly aimed at improving installation timelines.
  • Develop strategies for cost reduction to enhance installation projects.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience with equipment or software:
    Windows, MS Office Suite (including PowerPoint, Excel, Word), AutoCAD 2023, Inventor 2023, MS Project, Pneumatic systems and schematics, Motion Control systems, Automated equipment systems.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management.
