Position Overview:

  • Provide hands-on support for the installation of new or modified manufacturing machinery.
  • Oversee and guide contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance staff, and external trades during all phases of equipment setup and modifications, including demolition, construction, installation, testing, and debugging.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, process initiation, design, and documentation for Mechanical and Electrical Systems associated with new or modified manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and revise existing documentation to finalize drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production machinery.
  • Guide technicians in creating and updating necessary documentation to complete drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications for production machinery.
  • Evaluate the condition and functionality of existing equipment to ensure compatibility with new installation plans.

Required Experience:

  • Develop mechanical and electrical installation checklists and timelines, overseeing their implementation as necessary.
  • Procure and expedite materials required for new or modified machinery.
  • Identify and recommend vendors while maintaining effective communication between vendors and the plant.
  • Redesign mechanical components to minimize installation costs, resolve equipment conflicts, and rectify inadequate designs.
  • Prepare work orders and direct maintenance personnel and/or external trades in the fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of machinery.
  • Create, review, and update installation documentation and drawings as needed.
  • Execute initial equipment setup and debugging prior to handover to operations.
  • Collaborate with all departments as necessary to ensure optimal use and operation of equipment.
  • Redline existing drawings and coordinate with drafting services or oversee draftsmen to address design issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support, directing contract engineering technicians and trades as needed to replace defective components and implement design changes to resolve equipment/process challenges.
  • Deliver training to contract engineering technicians, internal maintenance staff, and external trades on new equipment installation procedures as necessary for successful execution of installation tasks.
  • Analyze and enhance equipment installation practices to improve efficiency, specifically aimed at optimizing installation schedules.
  • Develop cost-saving strategies for the enhancement of installation projects.


Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred equipment or software proficiency includes:
    Windows, MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), AutoCAD 2023, Inventor 2023, MS Project, Pneumatic systems and schematics, Motion Control systems, Automated equipment systems.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management.
