The University of Miami is looking for a Radiologic Technologist II to join our team in Doral, Florida.

Position Overview

This role involves executing intricate procedures in Radiology by utilizing radiographic machinery to achieve the highest quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative, along with responsibility for specific areas, procedures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging studies under the supervision of a radiologist.
  • Assist in the training and education of new medical personnel.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and PhD professionals to develop innovative protocols and imaging techniques.
  • Engage in research initiatives and contribute to the development of research protocols.
  • Lead team efforts routinely and ensure accurate charging of Radiologic procedures and supplies.
  • Provide demonstrations of Radiologic equipment for visiting medical professionals.
  • Review and verify Radiologic orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Ensure patient identification and consent are obtained prior to procedures.
  • Perform specialized tasks related to Radiologic scanners while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, stocking necessary supplies.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed and report any unusual findings promptly.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certification: Must hold a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer and be ARRT registered with certification in the primary modality.

Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.
