The Radiation Therapist 2 is a certified professional who, under the general supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, plays a crucial role in the operational strategy of the Radiation Oncology Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care while aligning with the organization's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
The Radiation Therapist 2 is proficient in technical skills, serves as a mentor to Radiation Therapist 1, and collaborates effectively with various departments.
This role involves administering ionizing radiation to patients as per the directives and prescriptions provided by the physician, adhering to departmental protocols, state regulations, and Baptist Health System's policies.
The Radiation Therapist 2 embodies the Mission and Vision of the organization and the department, along with the Service Excellence philosophy upheld by Baptist Health.
When designated, this position acts as a senior resource and is capable of coordinating technical tasks during emergency or atypical situations as required.
Compensation:
The anticipated pay range for this role is $53.70 per hour, contingent upon experience.
Qualifications:
An associate's degree is mandatory.
Licenses & Certifications:
Basic Life Support, ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiation Therapy.
Additional Qualifications:
Required: An Associate of Science in Radiation Therapy or an Associate in Radiologic Science with Radiation Therapy Certification. As of January 2015, an Associate degree with Radiation Therapy Certification is required. A fundamental understanding of the technical and theoretical aspects of Radiation Oncology is essential. Certification must be obtained from an institution accredited by ARRT. Candidates must have completed one full year at Baptist Health or possess three years of clinical experience in an external facility.
