The Division of Nuclear Medicine within the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Miami Health System is in search of a fellowship-trained professional for a full-time faculty role. This position is available at the levels of Assistant, Associate, or Professor within the clinical educator track.

Faculty Responsibilities:

  • Engage in active clinical practice across both outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Contribute to the education and advancement of medical students, residents, and fellows in diagnostic radiology.
  • Preferred experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy and theranostics, particularly in therapies for thyroid cancer, lymphoma, neuroendocrine tumors, and prostate cancer.
  • Oversee the performance of technical staff.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Implement quality assurance measures pertinent to Nuclear Medicine practices.
  • Provide consultations in Nuclear Medicine as required.
  • Support off-site outpatient imaging operations as directed.
  • Assume administrative duties associated with Nuclear Medicine.
  • Engage in educational activities related to Nuclear Medicine, including:
    • Diagnostic Radiology and integrated Diagnostic Radiology/Interventional Radiology Residency programs.
    • Nuclear Medicine Fellowship Program.
    • Medical student education initiatives.
    • Radiologic technologist training programs.
    • Continuing Medical Education offerings.
  • Potential involvement in the development and management of clinical research projects.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees as needed.

Teaching Commitment:

The University of Miami Health System emphasizes high-quality education. The selected candidate will be expected to actively participate in didactic teaching for medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as engage in seminars and educational lectures. Supervision of trainees involved in patient care is also anticipated.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Medical Degree
  • Completed Diagnostic Radiology Residency
  • Nuclear Medicine Fellowship

Certification and Licensing:

  • American Board of Radiology (ABR) Certified or Board Eligible
  • Nuclear Medicine Board (ABNM) Certified or Board Eligible
  • Eligible for Florida Medical License

Experience:

  • Applicants should have completed at least one year of dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine and must hold dual board certification (ABR and ABNM). Previous experience in a university faculty setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy and theranostics is highly desirable.
  • Faculty members will also participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students, alongside engaging in clinical research and multidisciplinary conferences.

Practice Locations:

Faculty members will practice in various locations affiliated with the University of Miami Health System, which is recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical education.
