Reports to Store Manager:

As a Retail Team Leader, you will collaborate with your Store Manager to empower store associates in meeting sales targets through proactive coaching, fostering a team-oriented selling atmosphere, and ensuring operational excellence during your shifts as the acting manager.

This role includes being entrusted with store keys to manage opening and closing procedures when scheduled as the manager on duty.

Leadership Duties:

  • Collaborates with the Store management team to guide staff in achieving sales, service, and operational goals when designated as the manager on duty.
  • Embodies company values and leads by example through active coaching.
  • Effectively communicates priorities and sales strategies to ensure staff is well-equipped to optimize business performance.
  • Aids in the recruitment of store personnel and promotes diversity by contributing to an inclusive workplace.
Performance Management:

  • Assists the management team in realizing store business objectives, including sales, customer service, and operational targets.
  • Utilizes store reports to inform decisions that drive business outcomes.
  • Engages in business outreach initiatives and relays leads to the Store Manager.
  • Identifies areas for performance improvement and collaborates with management to develop enhancement plans.
Operational Excellence:

  • Works with the management team to ensure adequate staffing for effective execution of initiatives and operational tasks to fulfill customer commitments.
  • Supports management in training store personnel on all internal operational functions as required.
  • Remains updated on corporate communications, directives, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists management with the rollout of store programs aimed at increasing efficiency in sales, service, operations, and branding when assigned.
Workplace Environment:

  • Contributes to a vibrant and inclusive store atmosphere where team members' opinions and contributions are acknowledged and valued.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring training resources are utilized effectively.
  • Acts as a role model for all store associates, providing enthusiastic and motivational leadership.
  • Partners with management to conduct regular team meetings, ensuring all associates are informed of company directives.
Customer Experience Focus:

  • Assists in training the store team on customer service standards to create an outstanding customer experience, exceed expectations, and achieve a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Utilizes customer feedback to address and resolve concerns effectively.
  • Collaborates with management to ensure the store meets visual merchandising standards and marketing initiatives are executed according to company guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Retail or Sales.
  • Creative individual with sound judgment and an awareness of business dynamics.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and a strategic thinker.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates active listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record in training and developing high-performing store teams.
  • Proficient in technology systems, applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to operate a computer and POS System.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift, frequently bend, squat, twist, lift up to 50 lbs., climb a ladder to reach merchandise and/or supplies, and distinguish between fabric patterns and colors.


The starting range for this position is $25.25 and may increase to $31.07 based on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors.
