Benchmark Spruce Point Inn is a unique resort that embodies spirit and tradition, nestled between the woods and the sea. Recognized as a top resort, our historic inn has welcomed travelers for over a century, providing an iconic coastal experience.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a driven and analytical professional to join our leadership team as the Food and Beverage Director. This role requires a proactive leader who sets high standards, inspires their team, and continuously seeks innovative solutions. The Director will provide strategic leadership to meet the financial and quality objectives of our stakeholders, guests, and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly coordination and department head meetings
- Communicate upcoming events and company policies to staff
- Provide information about departmental capabilities to other teams and clients
- Address guest needs and requests promptly
- Ensure that food, beverage, and service quality standards are upheld
- Plan and oversee the administrative functions of the Food and Beverage Department
- Delegate responsibilities across various food and beverage sub-departments
- Develop and monitor operational schedules to achieve profitability
- Collaborate with culinary teams to create appealing menus
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages employee loyalty
- Implement effective cost control measures
- Assist managers in achieving profit objectives and quality standards
- Develop management tools for budgeting and forecasting
- Oversee payroll for the department
- Address performance issues as necessary
- Regularly assess customer satisfaction and recommend operational improvements
- Plan and implement training programs for employee development
Work Environment:
The position is based in a climate-controlled environment with various settings, including indoor and outdoor areas. Employees may encounter different conditions, including hard surfaces and exposure to outdoor elements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Prior experience as a Director of Food and Beverage in a luxury hotel or full-service resort
- Familiarity with Micros software
- Ability to make swift decisions in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Positive and engaging personality
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in computer applications
