Role Overview:
We are seeking a driven and analytical individual to take on the role of Director of Food and Beverage. This position requires a proactive leader who exemplifies excellence, challenges the status quo, and actively engages their team. The Director will provide strategic direction to meet the financial and quality objectives of the organization, guests, stakeholders, and team members. They will ensure the seamless operation of all aspects of the resort's Food and Beverage services while enhancing current practices, aligning with the mission and values of Benchmark.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly Coordination and Department Head meetings
- Communicate upcoming events to team members
- Ensure staff are informed of company policies and procedures
- Provide information about departmental capabilities to other teams and clients
- Address the needs and requests of guests
- Maintain high standards of food, beverage, and service quality
- Oversee the administration and planning of the Food and Beverage Department
- Delegate responsibilities across various food and beverage sub-departments
- Develop and monitor operational schedules for all outlets
- Collaborate with culinary staff to create appealing menus
- Foster a positive work environment to retain committed employees
- Implement effective cost control measures
- Assist managers in achieving profit and quality standards
- Develop operational tools to support modern management practices
- Oversee departmental payroll
- Address performance issues as necessary
- Regularly assess customer satisfaction and recommend improvements
- Encourage professional development and training within the department
Work Environment:
The role is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor elements. The environment includes both carpeted and hard surfaces, with potential hazards in kitchen areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Previous experience as a Director of Food and Beverage in a luxury hotel or full-service resort
- Familiarity with Micros POS systems
- Ability to make swift decisions in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Positive and approachable demeanor
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in computer applications
