Job Summary

Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our physicians and staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient management, consultations, and co-management of surgical patients.
  • Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients and develop a diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as credentialed, in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Implement appropriate management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, admission and discharge care in accordance with evidence-based medicine.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve patient care issues to foster significant improvement in patient care and outcomes.
  • Dictate and document in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform patient education and maintain provision of preventive health services.
  • Conduct or participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Participate in the department call rotation and/or weekend/holiday rounding as required.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Participate in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
Qualifications
  • Nurse Practitioner: MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing required, ARNP license in the state of Florida, and national advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited physician assistant program, maintain current physician assistant licensure in State of Florida, and maintain NCCPA certification.
  • Five (5) years nurse practitioner or physician assistant experience, including two (2) years in specialty.
