Position Overview:
The Emergency Medicine Physician is accountable for delivering direct patient care by thoroughly assessing medical histories and gathering, prioritizing, and synthesizing essential data relevant to the patient's health condition. This role involves making immediate decisions and taking actions to avert life-threatening situations or further complications in both prehospital environments and emergency departments. The physician will provide prompt recognition, evaluation, treatment, stabilization, and management of a diverse adult and pediatric patient population facing acute illnesses and injuries.

Emergency Department Features:- Team of six emergency department physicians
- Robust support from full-time hospitalists and various specialties including surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatry
- 24/7 access to specialized service lines such as mental health and cardiology
- Approximately 9,000 patient visits annually
- 11-bed emergency department
- Experienced team of CRNAs, nurses, and employed EMS personnel
- Designated Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready
- Streamlined transfer processes to affiliated tertiary care hospitals
- Utilization of Epic with Dragon dictation technology
- Flexible scheduling with 12-hour shifts
- Daily operations of an Express Care Clinic staffed by physicians and advanced practice providers
- Eligibility for relocation and signing bonuses
- Hospital-employed model
Qualifications:
Requirements:- MD, DO, or equivalent international training
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
- Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain one
- Capability to secure and maintain Minnesota DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Meeting criteria for credentialing and hospital privileges as necessary
- ACLS/BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
- ATLS or CALS certification
- PALS certification required
