Position Overview:
The Emergency Medicine Physician is accountable for providing direct patient care by evaluating medical histories while gathering, prioritizing, and synthesizing essential data relevant to the patient's health or condition. This role involves making immediate decisions and taking actions necessary to avert mortality or further disability in both prehospital settings by guiding emergency medical technicians and within the emergency department. The physician will provide prompt recognition, assessment, care, stabilization, and management of a diverse patient population, including adults and children, in response to acute medical conditions and injuries.

Emergency Department Features:- A collaborative team of six emergency department physicians
- Robust support including full-time hospitalist coverage and various specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatry
- 24/7 access to specialized service lines including mental health, cardiology, and neurology
- Approximately 9,000 patient visits annually
- 11-bed emergency department
- Experienced team of CRNAs, nurses, and employed EMS professionals
- Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready designation
- Streamlined transfers to an affiliated tertiary care hospital network
- Utilization of Epic with Dragon dictation technology
- 12-hour shifts with adaptable scheduling options
- Daily operation of an Express Care Clinic staffed by clinic physicians and advanced practice providers
- Eligibility for relocation and signing bonuses
- Hospital-employed model
- MD, DO, or equivalent international training is mandatory
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
- Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in MN (or capability to obtain one)
- Ability to secure and maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Must meet criteria for credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
- ACLS/BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
- ATLS or CALS certification preferred
- PALS certification required
Physical Demands:
Medium Work: Ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
