Position Overview:

The Emergency Medicine Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by assessing medical histories and synthesizing critical data relevant to the patient's health status. This role involves making immediate decisions and taking necessary actions to avert mortality or further complications, both in prehospital environments and within the emergency department. The physician will recognize, evaluate, and manage a diverse range of adult and pediatric patients experiencing acute medical conditions and injuries.

  • A collaborative team of six emergency department physicians
  • Robust support from full-time hospitalists and various specialties including surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and more
  • 24/7 access to specialized service lines such as mental health and cardiology
  • Approximately 9,000 patient visits annually
  • 11-bed emergency department
  • Experienced team of CRNAs and nursing staff
  • Designated Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready
  • Streamlined transfer processes to affiliated tertiary care facilities

Job Requirements:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent international medical training is required
  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
  • Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in the relevant state
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Compliance with credentialing and hospital privileges criteria
  • ACLS/BLS certification required within 180 days of hire
  • ATLS or CALS certification preferred
  • PALS certification required

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work: Ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently.
