Position Overview:

As an Endocrinologist, you will be accountable for providing comprehensive patient care by thoroughly reviewing medical histories and gathering, prioritizing, and synthesizing relevant health data. Your role includes educating and consulting with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, with a focus on disorders affecting the internal (endocrine) glands, including the thyroid and adrenal glands. You will also manage conditions such as diabetes, metabolic and nutritional disorders, pituitary diseases, and issues related to menstrual and sexual health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care:
    • Conduct thorough reviews of patient medical histories while collecting and synthesizing relevant health data.
    • Evaluate and interpret information to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
    • Provide education and consultation to patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
    • Manage disorders related to the internal glands and other endocrine-related conditions.
    • Collaborate with patients to enhance their health and well-being.
    • Practice with consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
    • Document patient information electronically in accordance with professional standards.
    • Engage in a multidisciplinary approach to case management.
    • Provide care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities.
    • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Utilize quality improvement methodologies to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.
    • Participate in peer review and quality assurance initiatives.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of an accredited Fellowship training program in Endocrinology.
  • Less than 2 years of experience in the specialty area.
  • Licensure as a Physician in Minnesota required upon hire.
  • ACLS-BLS certification required within 180 days.
  • PALS certification may be required depending on the business unit.
  • NRP certification may be required depending on the business unit.
  • Licensure as a Physician in Wisconsin required upon hire.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine with a specialization in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism required upon hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire.
  • Prescription Monitoring Program registration required upon hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required upon hire.

Physical Demands:
Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
