Position Overview: The Management Trainee program is structured to prepare future leaders with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in management roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and responsibilities of store associates in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Assist in managing all store functions to achieve financial and sales objectives.
  • Foster positive relationships with associates and customers, promoting a robust workplace culture aligned with Hannaford's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with store operations and merchandising strategies.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and sales skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Willingness to learn various tasks and technical requirements, including successful completion of forklift and power jack training.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift up to 20 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs.
  • Push/pull weights of up to 40 lbs. consistently.
  • Stand or walk for the entirety of the shift.
  • Engage in frequent reaching, grasping, and lifting of stock items.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures for short durations.
  • Proficient in using computers and communication systems essential for job functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Support the management of all aspects of Center Store operations as directed by the Center Store Manager.
  • Lead and motivate Center Store associates effectively.
  • Exemplify exceptional customer service and provide solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Contribute to sales growth through effective merchandising practices.
  • Maintain efficient work schedules to meet production and service standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for associates as required.
  • Stay informed about and adhere to the Center Store Standard Practices Manual.
  • Ensure high standards of department appearance, quality, variety, safety, and food safety.
  • Utilize company tools such as financial reports and business information systems for operational efficiency.
  • Accurately document production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
  • Participate in various departmental functions to meet production and service goals.
  • Handle all store information with confidentiality.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage.
