Responsibilities as a Trimmer Trainee at Lewis:

  • Engage in a cutting-edge climbing skills training program
  • Collaborate closely with a supportive team in a cooperative environment
  • Perform line clearing and tree trimming tasks for utility clients, including pruning, limb trimming, tree removal, and managing fallen limbs near power lines and structures
  • Climb trees for manual trimming and removal around electrical lines
  • Operate, maintain, and utilize various tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
  • Clear debris, remove brush and limbs, and apply chemical treatments for vegetation management
  • Ensure the safety of employees and the public by identifying and mitigating work area hazards while promoting on-the-job safety practices

Qualifications:

  • At least six months of experience working around utility wires as a ground person or equivalent
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, operate machinery, and endure extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to obtain necessary training and certifications, including tree identification and licenses
  • Acquire First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing and skills evaluations
  • Hold a valid Driver's License
