Overview:

The role serves as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for managing appointment scheduling, maintaining patient records, and handling incoming calls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and adjust patient appointments according to physician availability.
  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism.
  • Manage phone communications, ensuring timely message recording.
  • Input and update patient registration information and accounts.
  • Handle document photocopying as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-certification for patients when required.
  • Process and document referral requests for patients and healthcare providers.
  • Transcribe correspondence and memos as needed.
  • Ensure regular computer backups are maintained.
  • Sort and manage incoming mail.
  • Handle inquiries from insurance providers.
  • Review and correct transcriptions as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to hospital hygiene standards.
  • Follow established standards of behavior.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.

Working Conditions:

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking may be required.
