RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCING SPECIALIST
NATURAL GAS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

OVERVIEW:

The Renewable Energy Sourcing Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive procurement and analytical services for both conventional and renewable energy sources. This position is responsible for providing product recommendations, conducting energy market and utility tariff assessments, evaluating pricing, and managing contracts for ENGIE Impact's client delivery teams and clients. The specialist will possess expertise in various deregulated and renewable energy markets, offering services across North America and globally as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver consulting and analytical services related to conventional and renewable energy procurement to ENGIE Impact client delivery teams, including but not limited to: RFP formulation, market analysis, risk management, strategic procurement advice, contract negotiation, contract oversight, and product management.
  • Engage and communicate consistently with ENGIE Impact stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned regulatory markets.
  • Interact with suppliers, utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to collect timely and accurate energy market intelligence to support client strategies.
  • Foster relationships with supplier partners through regular communication.
  • Develop and enhance procurement service deliverables, tools, and processes while evaluating and supporting new opportunities.
  • Create and maintain robust toolsets for risk management, product comparison, and market analysis for ENGIE Impact teams.
  • Regularly prepare and present updates on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  • Conduct training sessions for Energy Supply Management (ESM) staff on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering degree is advantageous.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in energy procurement, contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis.
  • Utility experience or familiarity with utility bill calculations is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; intermediate skills required.
  • Ability to create macros and utilize programming within Excel and Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery capabilities.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Able to manage deadlines and high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be necessary.
