Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing, directing, and coordinating all activities related to the development and maintenance of solar energy projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Coordination: Organize and manage onsite construction operations, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
  2. Technical Proficiency: Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical schematics, and reports pertinent to solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with Design Engineers to assess, implement, and manage mechanical systems and processes.
  4. Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers within the organization.
  5. Compliance Management: Ensure that on-site construction adheres to design documents and complies with national and local building codes.
  6. Design Support: Provide management oversight for the design phase of solar PV projects, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.
  7. Construction Oversight: Lead all aspects of construction from cost estimation to scheduling and execution.
  8. Subcontractor Management: Supervise subcontractors and crews to ensure timely and quality project completion.
  9. Cost Negotiation: Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain competitive market standards.
  10. Commissioning Coordination: Collaborate with the Commissioning Manager to finalize project commissioning and reporting.
  11. Utility Relations: Foster strong relationships with Utility Companies, ensuring effective communication regarding project timelines and inspections.
  12. Documentation Management: Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, changes, and compliance.
  13. Quality Assurance: Monitor and uphold quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Reporting: Regularly update management on project status, challenges, and compliance with budget and schedule.
  15. Problem Solving: Act as a resource for troubleshooting issues on current projects.
  16. Customer Service: Provide timely mechanical and technical support during the warranty phase of projects.
  17. Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to company safety policies and relevant safety standards.
  18. Cost Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost savings through effective vendor negotiations and process improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in construction technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in construction or renewable energy sectors.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools like MS Project.
  • Prior experience in solar construction projects.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification.
