Job Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of solar energy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and coordinate all phases of construction activities on-site.
  2. Interpret and analyze technical documents, including blueprints and schematics related to solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
  3. Collaborate with Design Engineers to assess, implement, and manage mechanical systems and processes.
  4. Recruit, mentor, and guide project managers within the organization.
  5. Oversee on-site construction to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes.
  6. Manage relationships with internal teams and external consultants across various disciplines.
  7. Lead project management efforts from estimation through scheduling and execution.
  8. Supervise subcontractors and crew to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  9. Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
  10. Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager for project completion and reporting.
  11. Establish and maintain effective communication with Utility Companies regarding project timelines and inspections.
  12. Document and manage project changes and delays effectively.
  13. Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Provide regular updates to management on project status, challenges, and compliance with budget and schedule.
  15. Act as a problem solver for ongoing projects.
  16. Deliver timely technical support during the warranty phase of projects.
  17. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  18. Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic vendor negotiations.
  19. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in construction technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in construction or renewable energy.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools.
  • Background in solar construction projects.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification.
