Senior Analyst for Energy Procurement

LOCATION: Remote USA

OVERVIEW:

The Senior Analyst for Energy Procurement plays a vital role in delivering extensive conventional and renewable energy acquisition and analytical services. This position involves offering product recommendations, conducting energy market and utility tariff evaluations, pricing assessments, and managing contracts for ENGIE Impact's client delivery teams and clients. The analyst will be well-versed in the deregulated and renewable energy sectors across North America and globally as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver consulting and analytical services in conventional and renewable energy procurement to ENGIE Impact's client delivery teams, including but not limited to: RFP formulation, market analysis, risk assessment, strategic procurement advice, contract negotiation, and management.
  2. Engage and communicate consistently with ENGIE Impact stakeholders and clients.
  3. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the assigned regulatory environments.
  4. Interact with suppliers, utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to gather timely and accurate energy market intelligence to support client strategies.
  5. Foster relationships with supplier partners through regular communication.
  6. Create and enhance conventional and renewable energy procurement service deliverables, tools, and processes while evaluating and supporting new opportunities.
  7. Develop and sustain comprehensive toolsets for risk management, product comparison, and market analysis for ENGIE Impact teams.
  8. Regularly prepare and present updates on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  9. Conduct training sessions for Energy Supply Management (ESM) staff on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  10. Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering degree is advantageous.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in energy procurement, contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with utility operations or utility bill calculations is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in collaborative teamwork and capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to create macros and programming within Excel and Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery capabilities.
  • Adept at analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Standard office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Evening and weekend duties may occasionally be required.
  • Rare off-site travel for local events may be necessary.
  • Exposure to typical office noise from telephones, machines, and conversations among colleagues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and move between areas of the building regularly, as well as sit and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and handle documents.
  • Near vision acuity to read information on computer screens and printed materials.
  • Effective hearing and verbal communication skills for in-person and telephone interactions.
  • Ability to lift and carry documents weighing up to 15 pounds.
