RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCING SPECIALIST
NATURAL GAS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

OVERVIEW:

The Renewable Energy Sourcing Specialist plays a vital role in delivering extensive conventional and renewable energy sourcing and analytical services. This position involves providing product recommendations, conducting energy market and utility tariff assessments, evaluating pricing, and managing contracts for ENGIE Impact client delivery teams and their clients. The specialist will have expertise in designated deregulated and renewable energy sectors, offering these services across North America and globally as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver consulting and analytical services related to conventional and renewable energy sourcing to ENGIE Impact client delivery teams, which includes: RFP formulation, market evaluation, risk management, consultative sourcing recommendations, strategy formulation, contract negotiation, contract oversight, and product management.
  • Engage and communicate consistently with ENGIE Impact stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned regulatory markets.
  • Interact with suppliers, utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to collect timely, accurate, and complete energy market intelligence to support client strategies.
  • Foster relationships with supplier partners through regular communication.
  • Develop deliverables, tools, and processes for conventional and renewable energy sourcing services. Assess and support new opportunities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive toolsets for risk management, conventional and renewable energy product comparison, and market evaluation for ENGIE Impact teams.
  • Regularly prepare and present updates on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  • Design and deliver training sessions for Energy Supply Management (ESM) staff on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new employees.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering degree is a plus.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in energy sourcing, energy contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis.
  • Experience or knowledge in utility bill calculations is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to create macros and programming within Excel and Power BI is highly desired.
  • Proficient in developing and delivering quality presentations.
  • Adept at analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Capable of managing deadlines and high-pressure situations as needed.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be necessary.
