SUMMARY:

The Energy Procurement Analyst plays a vital role in delivering extensive conventional and renewable energy acquisition and analytical services. This position involves providing product recommendations, conducting energy market and utility tariff evaluations, assessing pricing, and managing contracts for ENGIE Impact client delivery teams and their clients. The analyst will possess expertise in designated deregulated and renewable energy markets, offering these services across North America and globally as required.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver consulting and analytical services related to conventional and renewable energy procurement to ENGIE Impact client delivery teams, which includes RFP development, market evaluations, risk management, strategic procurement recommendations, contract negotiations, and product management.
  2. Engage and communicate consistently with ENGIE Impact stakeholders and clients.
  3. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing assigned markets.
  4. Interact with suppliers, utilities, local distribution companies, and public utility commissions to gather timely and accurate energy market intelligence to support client strategies.
  5. Foster relationships with supplier partners through regular communication.
  6. Develop deliverables, tools, and processes for conventional and renewable energy procurement services while evaluating and supporting new opportunities.
  7. Create and maintain robust toolsets for risk management, product comparison, and market assessment for ENGIE Impact teams.
  8. Regularly prepare and present updates on conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  9. Design and deliver training sessions for Energy Supply Management (ESM) staff regarding conventional and renewable energy markets and products.
  10. Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering degree is advantageous.
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in energy procurement, contracting, renewable energy products, utility tariffs, finance, risk management, or quantitative analysis.
  • Experience with utilities or knowledge of utility bill calculations is preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Capability to work collaboratively within teams and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to create macros and programming within Excel and Power BI is highly desired.
  • Strong presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting utility, tariff, and wholesale market data.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Able to manage deadlines and high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Standard office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and weekend duties may be required.
  • Rare off-site travel for local events may be necessary.
  • Exposure to typical office noise from telephones, office machines, and conversations among colleagues.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and move throughout the building regularly, as well as sit and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating a computer keyboard and handling documents.
  • Near vision acuity sufficient for reading information on computer screens, handwritten forms, and printed materials.
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and via telephone.
  • Ability to lift and carry documents weighing up to 15 pounds.
