Position Overview

The role involves managing complex administrative responsibilities within designated courtrooms and departments.

Compensation Level: 42

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of pertinent experience in clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical roles, including at least one (1) year in a Deputy Court Clerk capacity.
  • A high school diploma or GED; OR
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work, alongside at least one (1) year of college education (30 semester hours or 36 quarters) from an accredited institution.
  • Verification of education, training, and/or experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee the daily docket or calendar of cases for the assigned courtroom.
  • Organize, route, and maintain court case files and documents.
  • Provide assistance and information to judges, attorneys, and litigants.
  • Notify involved parties of their scheduled court appearances.
  • Engage with various state and county offices as necessary.
  • Process a variety of legal documents for the courts and the public.
  • Digitally file and archive legal documents received by the court.
  • Conduct data entry and record case outcomes and court orders.
  • Coordinate, collect, and manage court fees.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Familiarity with various legal documents issued by the court.
  • Ability to maintain an organized system of records and files.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with court officials.
  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer.
  • Ability to articulate clearly in writing on legal documents and court files.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Accurate numerical computation skills.

Special Considerations

  • May require working evenings, holidays, and weekends on a rotational basis.
  • May be assigned to a 24-hour office environment.
