Position Overview

This role operates under the limited general supervision of a Supervisor, providing essential support to a unit engaged in courtroom operations for the Criminal Court Clerk's office. Responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks associated with courtroom functions, including the management of case documentation, identification of evidence, and recording of motions.

Compensation

Pay Grade: 46

Salary is commensurate with experience and educational background.

Essential Qualifications

100% -

1. A minimum of six (6) years of experience in clerical, statistical, or court-related functions, utilizing an electronic case management system, with at least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role; AND

2. A high school diploma or equivalent GED.

3. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provides leadership and direction to subordinate staff within the Courtroom Clerk unit.

2. Collaborates with a Courtroom Supervisor to plan, schedule, and execute work operations in each courtroom.

3. Aids in the planning and execution of training for Courtroom personnel in conjunction with a Supervisor.

4. Issues both oral and written directives to subordinate staff as necessary.

5. Performs the same tasks as subordinates and assists them in their duties as required.

6. Manages the daily operational activities of the courtroom.

7. Aids in the collection of data to quantify courtroom operations.

8. Prepares and maintains accurate and timely records as needed and directed.

9. Undertakes other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

KSAs -

1. Familiarity with the administrative functions of the Criminal Court Clerk's Office, including policies and practices.

2. Understanding of the procedures and functions within the Courtroom Clerks unit.

3. Capability to coordinate and oversee the activities of assigned personnel.

4. Proficiency in interacting with colleagues and the public with courtesy and professionalism.

5. Ability to follow and issue both oral and written instructions effectively.

6. Knowledge of legal documents issued by the court and their associated practices.

7. Competence in maintaining accurate records and writing legibly.

8. Ability to write clearly on legal documents and court files.

9. Skill in multitasking.

10. Demonstrated organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.

11. Knowledge of court documents, motions, and their processing.

Special Requirements

Availability to work overtime as necessary.
