Position Overview

GovCIO is seeking a dedicated Security Systems Administrator to evaluate and address ACAS scan results while supporting essential Risk Management Framework (RMF) operations. This role is entirely remote with minimal travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will be an integral part of the IT support team, overseeing multiple secure environments, ensuring timely patching, vulnerability resolution, and compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for assigned projects. Responsibilities include planning, executing, monitoring, and enhancing security protocols to safeguard program data, systems, and networks. The individual will ensure the organization's data and infrastructure are secured by implementing the necessary security measures and troubleshooting technical security and network issues.

  • Work collaboratively with intrusion analysts to detect, document, and coordinate the resolution of cyber threats to the organization.
  • Utilize technical expertise in computer systems and networks alongside cyber threat intelligence to evaluate the client's security posture.
  • Investigate hackers, their techniques, vulnerabilities, and exploits, providing comprehensive briefings and intelligence reports to management.
  • Conduct monthly vulnerability assessments and scans of servers, addressing identified issues and implementing mitigations.
  • Respond to assigned tasks, incidents, and service requests efficiently.
  • Perform system administration functions and responsibilities.
  • Offer technical support for Red Hat and Windows server systems, executing Tier II and Tier III administration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis tasks.

Qualifications

High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent qualifications).

  • Clearance Required: Top Secret

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must obtain IAT level II certification within 90 days of employment (e.g., CompTIA Security+(CE)).
  • Must acquire Computing Environment certification within 90 days of employment (e.g., AWS, Linux, Windows).
  • Proven experience and understanding of DOD Security, RMF, and/or NIST Policies.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications.
  • Excellent skills in technical documentation and reporting.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in an Agile work environment.
  • Relevant technology certifications.

Compensation Information

The compensation range for this position reflects the expected salary at the start of employment. However, actual base pay may vary based on several individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package may also include additional compensation elements, which will be discussed during the hiring process.

Salary Range

USD $140,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
