Position Title:

Cybersecurity Engineer

Company Overview

KBR is on the lookout for a dedicated and proactive cybersecurity engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). This role requires adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced setting, with responsibilities that encompass both independent work and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Program Overview

As a key member of our innovative engineering team, you will play a vital role in enhancing cybersecurity operations to fulfill the requirements of the U.S. Air Force. Your contributions will help establish our reputation for professionalism and excellence in delivering services that foster customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the cybersecurity posture of Air Force software development environments.
  • Work closely with Air Force initiatives to secure applications and infrastructure within a DevSecOps framework.
  • Assist in the cybersecurity efforts for various Air Force networks, systems, and applications as required.
  • Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and risk evaluations for existing and future networks and applications.
  • Perform essential cybersecurity analyses, applying technical risk management principles to evaluate systems and applications.
  • Review and ensure compliance with established security requirements through comprehensive documentation checks.
  • Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes, leading to successful Authority to Operate (ATO) outcomes.
  • Provide Authorization Recommendations to Security Control Assessors (SCA) and Authorizing Officials (AO).
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% may be necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, accompanied by 10 years of relevant experience.
  • DoDM IAM Level III Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient understanding of DoD Instructions, NIST SP 800-53, AFI 17-101, and the RMF process.
  • Experience with A&A processes and the requirements set forth by SCA/AO.
  • Must possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance upon hire, with U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active DoD Top Secret Clearance is highly desirable.
  • Certification as an ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS)
    • DevSecOps methodologies
    • Software application development
    • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
    • Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)
    • Containerization (e.g., Kubernetes)
    • Red Team operations and penetration testing
