Job Overview:

Become a vital member of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) and contribute to a team dedicated to tackling some of the most intricate technical challenges. The Code 50 White Collar (Machinery Controls) initiative is in search of a Configuration Control Specialist to enhance their operations.

In this capacity, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the creation and implementation of the configuration management process for documentation and work products related to installations (both hardware and software).
  • Ensuring configuration control of documentation and software updates from vendors and technical departments, while analyzing potential impacts on CS/IS.
  • Identifying discrepancies in drawings, configuration challenges, equipment shortcomings, and operational interferences.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective configuration management of equipment, software, and documentation, adhering to Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 standards and local Quality Assurance (QA) practices.
  • Executing configuration version control processes (checkout/check-in, version number management, system/software baselines, merging, building, testing, and releasing) for software, hardware, requirements, firmware, images, technical manuals, test procedures, and support documentation.
  • Utilizing established forms, templates, databases, and applications (GIT, Telelogic DOORS, Sharepoint, Excel, Word, Access, and Project) for configuration version control.
  • Managing configuration control of control system software and documentation in accordance with the approved SEP Configuration Management Plan, employing software version control tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Configuration Management role.
  • Proficiency in requirements management using DOORS.
  • Expertise in software configuration management, particularly concerning libraries of multiple software baselines, version control, tracking unique software build updates, and conducting source code comparisons.
  • Competence in technical writing.
  • Familiarity with the Waterfall software development life cycle.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
