Position Overview:

The Lead Consultant for IT Configuration Management plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and operational efficiency of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Collaborating closely with IT Service Now System Administrators, Platform teams, and Process Owners, this position is responsible for upholding standardized configuration management practices while aiding in the formulation of policies and processes. Key duties encompass performing audits, ensuring CMDB precision, and enhancing visibility regarding unauthorized modifications.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Asset Management and/or IT Configuration.

Desirable Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of IT Configuration and Asset Management methodologies.
  • Experience with Discovery and Service Mapping tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to maintain the integrity of CMDB data.
  • Proficiency in generating reports for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of standardized IT configuration management methodologies.
  • Support the Configuration Manager in the creation of policies, processes, and knowledge bases.
  • Collaborate with the Configuration Manager to improve the integrity of Configuration Item (CI) data.
  • Assist in executing configuration audits and reconciliations.
  • Maintain Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure accuracy and completeness within the CMDB.
  • Enhance visibility concerning unauthorized CI changes.
  • Identify configuration management support for new IT Service Management (ITSM) requirements.
  • Administer and support configuration and asset management tools.
  • Engage in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities to enhance the Service Now platform.
  • Act as a backup for the Change Advisory Board (CAB) Manager.
