Job Overview

We are currently in search of a skilled financial professional to fill the role of Assistant Controller within our client's Accounting division. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Controller and CFO to ensure effective oversight of financial performance, conduct thorough financial reporting and analysis, manage both general and cost accounting functions, engage in budgeting and forecasting processes, and contribute to various critical initiatives aimed at improving business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of timely, accurate, and well-supported GAAP financial statements.
  • Regularly analyze financial outcomes, identify discrepancies in budgets, and aid in the execution of cost-reduction strategies.
  • Coordinate essential information for external audits and act as a primary internal liaison during audit activities.
  • Support the processes for month-end and year-end closings.
  • Monitor trends in operational and financial data and develop assumptions based on findings.
  • Oversee customer credit terms and assess credit risk exposure.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and the financial systems, tools, and metrics utilized within the organization.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive financial experience, ideally with a background in manufacturing.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong proficiency in financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and formulas.
  • Experience with ERP or similar business systems is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to a non-financial audience.
