Brilliant Staffing is in search of a motivated Assistant Financial Controller to become a key member of our client's finance team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Controller to facilitate the effective oversight of financial performance, conduct thorough financial reporting and analysis, manage both general and cost accounting functions, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, along with other critical initiatives aimed at improving business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of timely, precise, and well-supported GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Regularly analyze financial outcomes, pinpoint budget discrepancies, and aid in the execution of cost-reduction strategies.
- Gather necessary documentation for external audits and act as the primary internal liaison during audit activities.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Track operational and financial data trends and formulate assumptions based on findings.
- Oversee customer credit terms and assess credit risk exposure.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the business and the financial systems, tools, and metrics utilized within the organization.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant financial experience, ideally with a background in manufacturing.
- CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong skills in financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially advanced Excel functionalities such as pivot tables and formulas.
- Experience with ERP or similar business systems is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying financial concepts to a non-financial audience.
