Position Overview

The Army CECOM is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of IT Specialist Sysadmin. This position involves utilizing Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to recruit skilled individuals for critical roles within the competitive service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand their operational needs and assist in various system and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Provide support for intricate daily operations across several SAP modules, including FI, SD, MM, WM, SCP, PS, MT, PLM, BPM, PM, DFPS, HR, Security BPM, and MRM.
  • Facilitate meetings with clients and system stakeholders to ensure requirements are effectively managed and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions align with client requirements by collaborating with multiple business process owners to identify, articulate, and document business objectives and current processes.
  • Review functional specifications prepared by other analysts and offer constructive feedback prior to client approval.
  • Work in conjunction with technical management to guarantee accurate translation of functional requirements into technical specifications.
  • Execute complex master data and transactional configurations within standard SAP solutions across designated modules.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow business analysts and development teams for solutions that extend beyond standard SAP configurations.
  • Oversee and provide feedback on documentation produced by junior analysts, including functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, training materials, and other relevant documentation.
  • Conduct thorough functional and technical troubleshooting to address basic production support issues, collaborating with business process owners and technical teams to resolve and document problems.
  • Introduce and implement SAP best practices in relevant areas, working alongside the change management team to facilitate daily operations and support.

Qualifications

Eligibility: Open to US Citizens. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate relevant experience as outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through recognized service programs. Candidates will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Resumes must clearly detail relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required. To qualify for the IT Specialist position, candidates must exhibit IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Demonstrates thoroughness and conscientiousness in work. 2) Customer Service - Engages with clients to assess needs and provide assistance, ensuring quality service delivery. 3) Oral Communication - Effectively conveys information to various audiences, making clear presentations and responding appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies issues, evaluates information accuracy, and formulates sound recommendations. Additionally, candidates must possess one year of specialized experience in: 1. Evaluating software configurations for SAP applications or customized business systems; 2. Resolving technical challenges related to major SAP applications; and 3. Collaborating with stakeholders to translate needs into functional requirements or develop comprehensive functional and technical specification documents.
