Position Overview
Engineering Consulting Services is seeking a skilled and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Supervisor to enhance our operational team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Operations: Conduct observations, testing, sampling, and inspections of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel on construction sites.
  • Safety Management: Maintain and organize inventory of supplies; ensure calibration and upkeep of field equipment while keeping precise records; foster a culture of safety; guarantee proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on job sites; assist in mandatory safety training.
  • Effective Communication: Engage in daily interactions with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; collaborate with Team Supervisors to facilitate scheduling and recruitment to ensure adequate staffing; mentor and train junior field personnel as they progress in their careers; provide support to project managers and department heads as necessary; attend project meetings as required; may involve participation in business development and client relations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of basic certifications, with advanced certifications potentially required based on job duties.
  • Ability to lift at least 85 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Solid understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
  • Proficient in data interpretation and evaluation of CMT methodologies and outcomes.
