Position Overview
The role of the Commercial Construction Field Superintendent is crucial for overseeing and managing various renovation projects across the greater Houston area. This position demands a proactive and experienced individual who can effectively lead field crews and ensure project execution aligns with established schedules and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize Procore construction software for daily logs, crew time tracking, and project communication.
- Travel between multiple job sites as required, ensuring reliable transportation is available.
- Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the field team to ensure quality project completion within the designated timeframe and budget.
- Monitor and assess field crew timesheets and ensure accurate job coding.
- Oversee subcontractor management, including scheduling and compliance with project timelines.
- Collaborate with project management teams, property managers, and building owners to coordinate work schedules.
- Maintain quality control and craftsmanship standards throughout all projects.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in construction drawings and potential project issues.
- Ensure compliance with job site safety regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage material and equipment orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate site inspections with city officials and third-party inspectors.
- Complete punch lists and manage project closeout documentation.
- Provide after-hours supervision as necessary.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as a project lead or superintendent in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in Procore construction software.
- A college degree is preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction drawings and documentation.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom meetings.
- OSHA certifications are preferred.
- Knowledge of Houston's commercial construction processes, permits, and procedures.
- Experience in tenant improvements and high-rise office environments is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to changing project environments and perform under pressure.
