Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Production Manager, the Sanitation & Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in anticipating and fulfilling the evolving needs and objectives of Wohlt Creamery. This senior-level position is dedicated to providing firm, fair, and consistent leadership to team members while cultivating an atmosphere of trust and open communication.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role are extensive and may be adjusted as deemed necessary by management:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including but not limited to: Human Resources, Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by promoting teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive work environment where safety and security are prioritized.
  • Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain optimal production functionality to meet organizational goals.
  • Maintain thorough communication with the Production Manager to prevent production gaps during shift changes.
  • Show respect and understanding for production runs completed during the first shift.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports in alignment with business objectives while encouraging teamwork and cohesion.
  • Inspect products and equipment to ensure compliance with federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Follow established SSOPs for cleaning equipment and work areas to ensure that sanitation standards are met and areas are prepared for the next production cycle.
  • Compile reports on regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Collaborate with management and production staff on sanitation issues and recommend improvements in equipment, layout, and practices to enhance sanitation standards and product quality.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for necessary supplies and materials for production.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as needed and submit work orders for major repairs to the Maintenance Department.
  • Manage chemical product costs within the established budget.
  • Document and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Promote a safe and positive work environment for all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
