Role Summary: In collaboration with the Operations team and under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Plant Operations Manager will oversee and manage all facets of daily production, warehousing, and maintenance activities. This role is pivotal in developing and executing strategies, policies, and procedures that ensure efficient production and timely product delivery. The Plant Operations Manager will coordinate with various teams, ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, optimize resource allocation, and lead a team of supervisors and operators. Additionally, this position will drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of daily operations in food and beverage contract manufacturing.
  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing team of production and warehouse supervisors, technicians, and operators through guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards, including compliance with regulatory requirements and certifications.
  • Assist in regulatory inspections and customer audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of operational excellence and innovation.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials, to achieve production targets while managing costs.
  • Monitor and assess production performance metrics, identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Coordinate plant-wide functions such as production planning, scheduling, sanitation, and safety.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement to streamline processes, boost productivity, and minimize waste and production costs.
  • Act as a resource for resolving inquiries and issues related to production.
  • Maintain and manage departmental supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure the completion of all necessary production documentation, including regular reports to senior management that highlight key performance indicators and challenges.
  • Administer related company policies and procedures.
  • Engage actively in safety initiatives, including attending safety meetings and conducting incident investigations.
  • Encourage a culture of discretionary effort among team members, promoting a mindset of excellence in their work.
  • Lead by example, consistently demonstrating a commitment to high performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams in a manufacturing and warehousing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze and organize data to create reports and metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective communication with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees and maintain team discipline.
