Role Overview

This role is pivotal in executing, implementing, and spearheading Continuous Improvement initiatives while promoting World Class Operations Management practices within the facility. The individual will be an integral part of the plant leadership team and may take on additional responsibilities across different functional areas to achieve the plant's operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a safety advocate, prioritizing safety in all tasks and collaborating with the EHS Manager to uphold safety policies and programs.
  • Drive the integration of Continuous Improvement principles into the plant's culture.
  • Identify high-impact cost-saving projects and coordinate project teams to ensure adequate resources for successful project completion.
  • Engage in daily production and operational matters as a member of the leadership team to ensure quality output, meet customer service commitments, and enhance efficiency.
  • Establish a reputation as a leader and problem solver, providing guidance and expertise to enhance performance.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop management skills among engineers, supervisors, and hourly staff, ensuring clear communication of expectations and standards.
  • Lead training initiatives to embed Continuous Improvement skills within the organization and develop new processes where necessary.
  • Manage significant projects aimed at improving plant performance.
  • Utilize data from various systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee efforts to enhance Continuous Improvement outcomes as indicated by regular audits.
  • Assist in creating reporting tools and progress updates for the designated business area.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices both internally and with external peers.
  • Manage communication regarding the status of plant improvement initiatives.
  • Guide the project selection process and ensure all employees understand the goals and objectives for a successful operational year.
  • Exhibit the ability to drive change and navigate challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrate and promote Amcor's Core Values, contributing to a high-performance culture.
  • Show capability in adopting new technologies and management strategies.
  • Employ an approachable and collaborative style to motivate teams towards achieving elevated performance standards.
  • Experience in implementing lean principles or other Continuous Improvement methodologies is preferred.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a technical field such as engineering or industrial technology.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of operations management experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
